Du-it, Cramm-it, Too Close!
In order to never forget the people close to me that inspire me/make me happy, I decided to take 3 amazing individuals I work with and create a triptych "about" them. Throughout this process I learned a lot about myself in relation to their personality traits and I learned more about each of them along with why I love them so much. They're honest, beautiful, kind, fun, unique, intelligent, driven, bright and deep individuals.

Wow! Is this your final project? I think this is the perfect ending to your creative path in the "Drawing 3" experience, to put it how you've never thought about it before. To further confuse you I think I can see both the people that you are representing and their personalities, within each works. I want to say that you subjects were one guy and two girls. Please post on my blog what the answer is! I think that people will not have any criticism with these because they bring together the best elements in your last project. This is definitely a strong final project. I have really enjoyed your work, process, and concepts throughout the semester.
ReplyDeleteHi Brian, These paintings were done for my painting 1 class. Now you make me want to submit them somehow for our Drawing 3 class - even though I could because people submit "non-drawings" for lots of drawing 3 projects. hehe Du-it is of my friend Maria, Cramm-it is of Justin and Too Close is of Britt. 2 girls and one guy for sure. There's a lot of history behind each painting with how it all came about. For Du-its, Maria is such a beautiful bright soul. I think that painting reflects that. For Justin's, I found a picture that I liked of him and a friend but instead of painting him, I painted his friend. That made me laugh. When I'm around Justin, I feel most like myself so I created this extremely colorful background to reflect that and to reflect the kinds of experiences/conversations we have together. Too Close is supposed to show adoration and struggle. Britt is a very unique personality but I know I have to watch myself with her. She has this personality that makes me want to do whatever she says. If she was a guy, I'd be in so much trouble. hehe I hope that answers all your quesitons. My final project for drawing 3 is a lot like my first big figure drawing. I have a lot of work yet to do on it... Thank you for your nice comments. I appreciate them a lot!
